Self as Such

I am myself upon your reading this. Thanks :)

I am Will/William Loughridge (he/him+). My academic work primarily exists at the intersection of Postmodern Philosophy and Christian Theology. As such, I am unable to escape the influence of Derrida, and of Kierkegaard, and of so very many others. I believe myself to be a complex person, but that is simply not up to me.

I study ethics, politics, religion, alterity, divinity, theology, liturgy, and reality through the method of methods: Play. I am a senior in Religious Studies and International and Public Affairs at Brown University, and am hoping to continue my graduate study somewhere soon.

Shoulders Upon Which I Stand

Jacques Derrida: Inescapable.
Søren Kierkegaard: The anti-thesis in a person. I like his stance on the state church.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer: My view of him emerges untainted from the evangelical arguements of the early 2010's. Because I was 7.
Catherine Pickstock: The best in the business. Gregory of Nyssa never seemed more essential.
Mark Fisher (K-Punk): Crisis is a manifestiation of theory.

I am currently working on my senior thesis, focusing on alterity and ethics between Derrida and Bonhoeffer. Heady Stuff.
